Youth Activities

Girl Scout Badges

Our club is pairing up with local scout troops to assist them in completing the requirements for two horticultural badges. The first is the “Florida Native Plants” badge, sponsored by the National Garden Club.  The second is a troop gardening badge. Cathy Holtzwart is working with the troop that meets at St. Jude.  Master Gardeners are needed to assist with native plant identification.  If you would like to assist please contact the committee at gcschoolgardens@gmail.com.

Junior Gardeners

If you have two hours to spare helping our leaders deliver the planned activities on any of these Saturdays it would greatly appreciated.  We meet at Pioneer Settlement Park from 9:30am-11:30am.

Summer Nature Camp

Planning has begun for our fifth annual Summer Nature Camp at the GCSP.

This year the dates are June 5 - 9, from 9:00 am to noon each day.

Volunteers are needed to help with planned activities, prepare snacks and clean-up.

Also, perhaps you know someone who would be willing to present a 30 - 45 minute

presentation to the 6-12 years olds on one of those days.  If you can help please contact Sue Massey at Sue_massey@yahoo.com
