Dracaena Circle

Like the many varieties of the Dracaena plant family, Dracaena Circle is noted for its variety. This circle consists of 40-50 members who meet on the third Tuesday of each month usually at the Garden Center but once or twice a year meetings are held at places of interest to the members such as the Florida Botanical Gardens. The focus of this circle is horticulture and Junior Gardeners. The members actively engage in all phases of gardening and participate in all Garden Club events. They participate in the Green Thumb Festival’s Flower Show and Horticulture Display, Grow & Share activities, and set up and support Junior Gardener groups in elementary schools. This year Dracaena Circle has a Junior Gardener group of third graders at Bauder Elementary School that meets after school. The group is developing a bird and butterfly garden for the school. At Douglas Jamerson Elementary School, members are working with a kindergarten class planning and planting a classroom butterfly garden. Dracaena members also maintain the beautiful Japanese Garden on the club grounds. In addition the circle financially supports World Gardening, Junior Gardening, Camp Wekiva, SEEK and scholarships for PTEC. New members and visitors are welcome.
