On-Site Gardens

The Garden Club is located in a city-owned park called Coconut Park. The Garden Club of St Petersburg supports the park by purchasing plants and garden supplies, and providing labor to maintain the gardens surrounding the building. The gardens include: Bromeliad Garden, Native Wildflower Garden, Butterfly Garden, Tropical Patio Garden, Japanese Garden, and a President’s Flower Garden.

Bromeliad Garden

Towering Royal Palms provide dabbled shade for this circular patio, surrounded by a variety of bromeliads, dracaena, and bird of paradise plants.

Butterfly Garden

This sun-drenched garden blooms every summer with wildflowers. You’ll also find railroad vine, raised beds of herbs, and a lovely table for a picnic lunch.

Japanese Garden

The serene tranquility of this garden with its various themed statues, vine covers trellis, and bridged rock river provides a highly desired backdrop for many wedding photos.

Native Wildflower Garden

Our tucked away native wildflower garden has suffered from Covid neglect and hurricane inundation. It is under major renovation to become a salt-tolerant centerpiece.

Tropical Patio Garden

Designed to highlight tropical plants that are often used as cuttings in floral design work. This garden surrounds the back side of our clubhouse in lushness.

President’s Flower Garden

Our newest garden fronting the clubhouse, this garden is a colorful delight.
